Restore Your Smile With Dental Implants In Woodland Hills

Saving your smile with dental implants has never been simpler!

The dental implant has, in so many ways, revolutionized dentistry and provided dentists with a vastly superior treatment option when compared to a partial denture or bridge. If you are getting ready to have a tooth extracted, we recommend you replace that tooth immediately with a dental implant.

A dental implant starts with a small titanium screw that is attached to your jaw bone. This screw acts just like the root of a tooth, and on it, the abutment is installed and attached to the new tooth. Once your implant is finalized, it will look, feel, and act like any other tooth. You will brush and floss a dental implant just like usual to promote healthy teeth and gums.

We make this procedure as simple, easy, and pain-free as possible. Dental implants are very common, and once in place, can help you with having a better bite and chew. The implants we provide are long-lasting and durable. If placed correctly, you should never have any problems with your implant.

If you have questions about the dental implant process or would like to schedule an appointment at our Woodland Hills office, call us at (818) 225-0046 or request your appointment online.

WHAT IS THE DENTAL IMPLANT PROCESS?

Your tooth implant procedure is a multi-step process that can take 6 to 8 months to complete. At Complete Health Dentistry, our periodontists make sure everything goes smoothly.

CONSULTATION

Your periodontist will complete a full exam of your mouth, including X-rays and teeth models. This makes sure that everything goes smoothly and your new teeth fit flawlessly.

BONE GRAFT

Between extraction and implantation, the jawbone of the missing tooth may have deteriorated. In this case, a bone graft surgery may be needed so it can support the implant.

IMPLANT

A metal screw or post is implanted into the jawbone of the missing tooth through a surgical procedure. Here, it will fuse to the bone in a process called osseointegration.

HEALING

After the implant is attached, your bone will need time to heal and osseointegrate. This healing process can take between 3 to 6 months, depending on the patient.

ABUTMENT

The abutment is a metal piece that connects your restoration piece to the implant post. It can sometimes be attached immediately following the post-implantation.

CROWN

A crown will be attached to the abutment, fully restoring your smile to its former beauty. Your crown will be color-matched to blend in seamlessly with the rest of your teeth.

Types Of Dental Implants: Which Is Better?

The right implant option can improve your smile and give you a new lease on life!

At Complete Health Dentistry, we want you to choose the best implant treatment for you. There are multiple options available to choose from that we can use to fully restore your smile:

Single Tooth Implants: This kind replaces a single missing tooth using a fully-artificial tooth, from root to crown, implanted in the jawbone. The crown is often made of ceramic or porcelain to match your smile flawlessly.

Mini Dental Implants: Mini implants are smaller than traditional implants and are a perfect solution for patients who don’t have enough jawbone to support a regular-sized post. They can also be used to support dentures and dental bridges.

Denture Implants: This type of implant does not use a crown as the restoration piece but instead uses dentures. They are much more stable than traditional removable dentures. There are permanent dentures available, such as All-On-4 dental implants. These full-mouth dental implants replace a full arch of your teeth by screwing into 4 implant posts arranged around your mouth.

Dental Bridge Implants: These implant-supported bridges are used to replace 3 or more missing teeth in a row. Instead of putting dental crowns on the 2 teeth on either side of the gap attached to the artificial replacement teeth, dental bridge implants go right to the source. Implants are attached to the bone on the outermost missing teeth, with a bridge of connected false teeth screwed into the posts.

Why Replacing Missing Teeth Matters

See why dental implants protect more than just your smile.

Missing teeth do more than affect your appearance; they can change the way you speak, chew, and even the way your jawbone ages. When a tooth is lost, the bone beneath it begins to shrink, which can lead to changes in facial shape and stability for neighboring teeth.

Dental implants stop this process by replacing the root as well as the crown, giving you the closest match to a natural tooth in both form and function. They also help maintain healthy bone density, support surrounding teeth, and allow you to enjoy your favorite foods without worry.

By restoring both your confidence and your oral health, dental implants are an investment that pays off for years to come.
